Duplication – commonly referred to as “burning”, is the process of copying thecontent of a master source onto individual blank recordable media, using automated high speed duplication systems – verifying each copy against the master source – is the most cost-effective method for ‘on-demand’, short-run projects of (100) to (500) copies, as well as for those time sensitive projects with quantities of (500) to (1,500) copies that require fast turnaround time to meet your deadline without sacrificing quality – yet eliminating the rush charges for creating a master-stamper required for the mass-Replication manufacturing process of injection molding of large quantities of CDs /DVDs.
Mass-Replication is a high-speed molding process that requires the creation of a master-stamper (metal mold) containing the digital data transferred from the original master source and molding exact ‘replicates’.
Able to amortize the initial glass master-stamper cost over a large quantity of discs, combined with the fast cycle time of a few seconds per disc, makes the mass-replication manufacturing process most cost-effective for quantities of (1,000+) copies.
Duplication and Replication are two distinctly different manufacturing processes. Both methods create identical ‘replicas’ of your original CD or DVD master source without sacrificing quality or reliability.
